#PASSINGCLOUDS FOREVER & #SAVESILVER BULLET

As many of you know, the fantastic Silver Bullet venue in Finsbury Park is currently under threat having been bought by a pub chain. As sad and frustrated as we were to see this announcement made a couple of weeks ago, sadly we’re not surprised given the devastating impact that the savage beast of Capitalism has been having on music and the arts industry over the last few years. Although the live music industry contributes billions to the UK economy, the desire to actively protect it has been sadly lacking in our elected officials, which is why we’re delighted that the newly elected mayor Sadiq Khan has put the preservation of music venues high on his list of priorities

The Silver Bullet has made some strong headway in their campaign, having inspired their new owners to offer them the lease if they can raise enough money to buy it. The crucial word there, of course, is IF - so make sure that IF becomes a WHEN by making a contribution to their crowd funding campaign! Our own campaign to keep our beloved home in Richmond Road continues unabated. Negotiations behind the scenes are so far looking promising and we’re keeping up the high level of 10 Year Anniversary programming we kicked off with LEE SCRATCH PERRY, and SUN RA ARKESTRA in May. We have more major names heading our way soon in the form of DAWN PENN, JAZZIE B, CONGO NATTY, EUGENE HUTZ, MACKA B, THE CORRESPONDENTS, DENNIS BOVELL & THE SOOTHSAYERS, THE HEMPOLICS, GAUDI, and a load more that are so huge we can’t even tell you about them because they might actually blow your minds!
